Assistant Foreign Minster of China Zhai Jun will pay a working visit to five African countries from Sept. 17 to 23, Chinese Foreign Ministry announced here Thursday.
Zhai's visit will cover South Africa, Lesotho, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde and Mauritania, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu told a regular press conference.
The visit is aimed at deepening China's friendly ties with these countries, Jiang said, adding Zhai will hold talks with state leaders or foreign ministers of these nations on bilateral ties as well as international and regional issues of common concern.
During his stay in South Africa, Zhai will co-host the second strategic dialogue between the two countries together with his counterpart of South Africa.
"We hope the dialogue will enhance mutual trust, expand consensus and deepen cooperation between the two countries," Jiang said.
