A national industry tourism union was founded Tuesday in Shanghai.

Industry tourism is about showing the tourists various aspects of industry such as research, production processes, management models, standards, history, achievements and culture to satisfy people's curiosity and enhance companies' brand image, according to the Industrial Culture Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The union was founded by 13 initiators, including the center, to advance industry tourism.

Ten routes with special features were unveiled Tuesday.
