The Communist Party of China's (CPC) top disciplinary watchdog exposed 10 disciplinary violation cases Monday. According to the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), several officials were involved in violations of Party disciplinary rules, participating in recreational activities, using public funds to fuel private vehicles and travel, illegally paying allowances, and accepting gifts and money. Most of the officials received a warning. In one case, Yang Shujun, a tax officer in the city of Baoding in north China's Hebei Province, spent nearly 2,850 yuan (about 413 U.S. dollars) to fuel his private car 10 times between December 2017 and February 2019. The cases have been uploaded to the CCDI's website to expose the practice of formalities for formalities' sake, bureaucratism, hedonism and extravagance. |
