SAIC-GM, a joint venture between Shanghai-based SAIC Motor and General Motors, will recall 7,779 vehicles due to defective electronic power steering. The affected cars include 16 imported Chevrolet Camaro models produced from Nov. 21, 2016 to May 4, 2017, and 7,763 homemade Cadillac ATS-L models produced from Sept. 14, 2016, to Sept. 18, 2017, according to a statement from the State Administration of Market Regulation. Under extreme conditions, the electronic power steering may lose efficacy due to circuit problems, posing safety risks, said the statement. The company will replace defective parts free of charge. The recall will start on June 20 |
