U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded lower on Friday with six of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on a downbeat note. Shares of New Oriental and SINA erased 1.74 percent and 1.11 percent, respectively, leading the laggards in the top 10 stocks. Shares of Yum China and BeiGene added 7.96 percent and 1.34 percent, respectively, leading the advancers in the top 10. U.S. stocks closed mixed on Friday as investors digested the latest corporate earnings reports as well as key economic data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 64.22 points, or 0.26 percent, to 25,063.89. The S&P 500 rose 2.43 points, or 0.09 percent, to 2,706.53. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 17.87 points, or 0.25 percent, to 7,263.87. As of Thursday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 2,565.36, marking a 11.96-percent increase for both the month-to-date and the year-to-date returns. |
