Together with other locations, Shanghai will make efforts in building demonstration zones featuring the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, Shanghai's mayor Ying Yong said on Sunday.

The city will cooperate with its partners in constructing programs of infrastructure, scientific innovation, industrial collaboration, environment and market systems, the mayor said while delivering the government work report at the annual session of the municipal people's congress.

Cooperation mechanisms will be further improved in public services such as pension service, medical and health services, human resources and social welfare.

The city will further participate in the construction of the Yangtze River economic belt, according to the report.

Last year, China unveiled a three-year (2018-2020) plan for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
