Profits of China's state-owned enterprises went up 17.3 percent year-on-year to 2.8 trillion yuan (400 billion U.S. dollars) in the first 10 months, the Ministry of Finance said Tuesday.

The growth pace was slightly slower than the 19.1-percent rise registered in the first nine months.
