The Red Cross Society of China has allocated 15.17 million yuan (about 2.22 million U.S. dollars) equivalent of goods and fund to aid relief efforts in areas that were hit by typhoons, floods or other natural disasters in the past two months. Relief materials sent to areas hit by disasters included daily essentials, tents, clothing, quilts, and folding beds. The allocation also included a fund worth 3.57 million yuan for emergencies. Since the beginning of July, the Red Cross has undertaken emergency responses in 14 provincial-level regions. Local Red Cross branches also dispatched emergency working groups and relief workers to the disaster-affected areas. |
