A Chinese ink painting exhibition featuring more than 500 masterpieces by prominent artists such as Qi Baishi and Xu Beihong opened Thursday in Guizhou Art Museum in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou Province.

The exhibition will include five seasons, each lasting one month, according to the organizer. The paintings are from institutions including Guizhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Guizhou University and Guizhou Provincial Museum.

"The exhibition will also include some rare pieces by artists from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties at a later stage, such as Gong Xian (1618 -1689), one of the Eight Masters of Nanjing," said Geng Xu, dean of the school of fine arts at Guizhou University.
