Chinese telecommunications companies Huawei and ZTE on Sunday presented several mobile devices on the eve of the opening of the 2018 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

Huawei, who apparently will not use this year's MWC to launch any new smartphones, presented the slimline Huawei MateBook Pro X, a high end touch-screen laptop with a 13.9 inch screen, a 3000 x 2000 resolution and a 92 percent screen to body ratio.

The company also presented the MediaPad M5, a new range of tablets with 8.4 and 10.8 inch screens

ZTE meanwhile presented its mid-range Blade V9 smartphone, which has a 5.7 inch Full HD screen and which comes in three different versions with 4GB RAM and memories of between 16GB to 64GB, which can be extended by the use of external memory cards.

The Blade V9 will cost between 269 euros and 299 euros and contains a camera which allows for clearer shots in the dark. It also has a 16 megapixel camera in its rear and a 5 megapixel camera in its face.

ZTE also introduced its ZTE Blade V9 Vita, a smartphone with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.

Finally, Alcatel, whose hardware is made by the Chinese Company TLC, presented its Series 5, Series 3 and Series 1 phones on Saturday, as well as two tablets and a series of routers.

The MWC is expected to attract 108,000 visitors from over 200 countries with 2,300 companies exhibiting in Barcelona.
