Hong Kong stocks closed up 558.26 points, or 1.81 percent, to 31,431.89 points on Wednesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 30,885.95 and 31,477.85. Turnover totaled 96.784 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 12.37 billion U.S. dollars).
