Xi Jinping said Wednesday the Communist Party of China (CPC) is striving to build China into "a great modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious, and beautiful."

Xi made the remarks while delivering a report at the opening session of the 19th CPC National Congress.
