Forty-eight red-necked kangaroos from the Netherlands are in quarantine in the port of Tianjin before they move to zoos around China.

Kangaroos, native to Australia, are considered exotic animals in China.

The Tianjin Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau said the kangaroos are subject to 30 days of quarantine at the port, during which they receive health checks for herpes, hepatitis and salmonella.
