Police in north China's Shanxi Province said on Saturday that 89 people suspected of being in a drug-trafficking ring have been caught. Police in Lyuliang City of Shanxi started investigating the drug traffickers in July last year. One of the ring-leaders, nicknamed "Dabo," was caught on Sept. 10 of last year in a hotel in Lyuliang. He was carrying 609 grams of methamphetamine, police said. "This drug-trafficking case is complicated and there were many people involved. We suspect there were six levels to the drug-trafficking operation," police said. Seven teams were set up for the investigation. Officers spent six months traveling to eight cities to capture the suspects, who were from the provinces of Shaanxi, Henan, Anhui, Shanxi, and Guangdong as well as Hong Kong. |
