The past couple of years have seen the partnership benefiting both African countries that have relations with China and the Asian nation. This week, Willowridge High School in South Africa's Pretoria played host to the Chinese Embassy in South Africa and the South African Department of Basic Education, as the embassy has donated language teaching equipment. The material will assist students in maximizing opportunities created by the Chinese program. Chinese Ambassador to South Africa, Tian Xuejun, and the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, were present to oversee the ceremony. South African Tourism recently held an event in Hong Kong, as part of its bit to lure more Chinese visitors to South Africa. Last year alone, a total of 117,000 Chinese nationals visited the African country. They made up a total of 38% of visitors to Mzansi. South Africa has much to offer visitors, including wildlife, its wonderful cities and one in a lifetime township experience. At the annual session of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, in Beijing, China's Foreign Minister, Wag Yi said Africa and China should undertake more projects together. |
