Police in Guangdong Province has handed over a suspect in a murder case to Hong Kong police at the request of the special administrative region.

The case dates back to December 2013 when a 26-year-old Dragonair flight attendant was murdered and later found in the bedroom wardrobe of her apartment.

The victim's former boyfriend Mo Chun-hsien was identified as the suspect after an investigation.

Mo fled Hong Kong to the mainland after the murder.

The suspect was eventually arrested in Shenzhen in October last year.

Official figures show Guangdong police have sent 174 suspects back to Hong Kong since 2000.
