This marks a major step towards the docking of cargo spacecraft Tianzhou-1 and Tiangong-2 space experiment apparatus, which is expected to take place in April this year. ![]() A simulated diagram of the docking of cargo spacecraft Tianzhou-1 and Tiangong-2 space experiment apparatus [Photo: CASC] The fully enclosed cargo spacecraft Tianzhou-1 weighs 13 tons and can carry goods weighing up to six tons. [Photo: CASC] The development of the Tianzhou-1 was completed at the Assembly Integration Test (AIT) Centre of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. Built in 1995 and located in Tianjin, the centre has witnessed the birth of all the Shenzhou spaceships in China.
