Zhang went missing near the immigration office early December after she was robbed while talking to her roommate on the phone.Zhang's roommate heard her shouting through the phone before their conversation suddenly broke off. Her roommate called her back later, but she was unable to get through. Italian police found Zhang's body a few days later, and believe the robbers targeted Zhang to steal her 1,000-euro designer bag. Security cameras show Zhang chase after three figures. Zhang was from Inner Mongolia in north China and had been studying in Rome since March 2016. She is the only child in her family. Zhang's father and uncle arrived in Rome a few days after she went missing.Police are still investigating the cause of her death. |
