[Photo: cnautonews.com] China's State Grid announced plans to increase the amount of facilities available to charge electric cars, expanding the networks into the future. The plan is to have a charging facility within each 1km radius for major Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou. The State Grid says it will build 10,000 charging stations and 120,000 poles by 2020. It is also set to expand its public fast-charge networks for electric cars in these cities. In October this year, official figures show China had 107,000 electric vehicle chargers, up 118% from the previous year. China plans to build a national charging network that will fulfill the power demands of five million electric vehicles in the next five years. |
