China's securities regulator said a stock trading link between Shenzhen and Hong Kong is ready for an official launch.

It said the system has completed all the technical preparations and had undergone four successful tests with particpation of securities firms and financial institutions in both Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

A similar link between the Shanghai and Hong Kong bourses was launched in November 2014, allowing investors at the two bourses to trade stocks listed on the other.

It's part of the effort to spur reform of China's stock market and realign it to international norms.
