China is ready to carry out dialogues and exchanges with Hungary to strengthen friendship and understanding between the two countries.

Liu Yunshan, a senior CPC official was speaking during a meeting with Hungarian parliament speaker Laszlo Kover on Thursday.

Liu said China treats Hungary as an important partner, and that his visit is to conduct further consultations on bilateral relations, and cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Kover said Hungary has a consensus on developing relations with China, hoping to tap the potential of cooperation and build a closer bond between the two countries.
