Chinese Premier Li Keqiang says China will support the UN Security Council in taking further action to the latest nuclear test conducted by North Korea. Li Keqiang has made the comment while meeting with US President Barack Obama in New York. In giving standing behind new UN actions against North Korea, the Premier has called for all sides to avoid steps which might escalate the situation. Li Keqiang's comments come just hours after North Korea confirmed the testing of a new rocket engine design. State media is reporting the ground-testing of, what's being described as, a high-powered engine carrier rocket engine is designed to launch satellites into space. North Korean rocket launches are prohibited under current UN sanctions, as the technology used in carrier rocket launches is similar to ballistic missile designs. |
