The service provides rental bikes located throughout the city, allowing the user to simply pick up and drop off bikes at their convenience, reported Chinanews.com on Sunday. Mobike, this online service, differs from traditional public bicycle services, since this service gives the user the ability of returning the bike anywhere anytime. After downloading the app and registering the user pays a 299RMB deposit. The app the locates the closest bikes, users scan a QR code into their phones and the bike unlocks for their use. It costs 1RMB for half an hour, when the user locks the bike the payment stops. Advantage of ease aside, feedback from users about users say that Mobike is too heavy, the seat can not be adjusted and it is uncomfortable. The iOS app has two options on finding bike locations, one is "never" and the other is "always". This means the possibility of disclosing the confidential information of users and wasting net flows. The other problem users have commented on is the last one kilometer. Mobike has a rule that users cannot put the bike within 1km of where they live. Therefore, the ease of simply riding to your doorstep is not available. Currently, Hu Weiwei, the founder of Mobike service says the company are not looking at profit margins, but focusing on growing usership. Mobike Technology corporation developed Mobike and it aims to provide convenient short distance travel solutions for residents in major cities.
