A CEO of a leading global mining group says this year's B20 Summit will highlight discussions about boosting infrastructure investments to seek global economic recovery. Jean-Sebastian Jacques, CEO of Rio Tinto which is headquartered in the UK, will attend the B20 Summit in September. He said the B20 meeting is coming at a very important time, since the economy is not moving very fast globally, and so requires some stimulus in the system. "If you look at the one of the leverage that you have is around infrastructure. And therefore the discussion around the B20, including the infrastructure task force, is going to be very important. You know that, to develop a recovery road for the global economy. I mean we shouldn't forget that, if you look at the infrastructure, we could be talking about 20 trillion dollars, 20 trillion dollars in next 15 years." The Rio Tinto CEO also said that a method to unlock those infrastructure projects could result in potentially a very important material impact on the global economy, and so this year's B20 Summit is going to be very important. |
