Chinese military teams have finished second behind Russia in the Tactical Air Assault and Backup event at the 2016 International Army Games in Russia.

The Chinese team came first in all the three events including Swimming in Battle Gear, Driving Armored Vehicles and Running Five Kilometers with a Burden of 20 Kilograms at the Koltsovo training ground in Novosibirsk.

A total of 117 soldiers from China's ground force participated in other events such as Scouting, Delivering Mortar Squad in Amphibian Carrier, and Dispatching the Injured in Motorboats in Vladimir.

Yu Yuanshui is commander of the scouting team participating in this drill.

"Chinese scouts performed well and displayed high quality in the international drills. And we also learned foreign troops' fighting concepts, tactical skills, authentic battle fields scenarios. We have learned a lot from them."

Around 121 teams from 19 countries in the world including China, Russia and Kazakhstan participated at the event.

More than 1-thousand soldiers from China competed in 22 events, the largest of all the teams.
