China’s health authority has issued an urgent calling-off of any clinical application of cellular immunity treatment, following a cancer treatment scandal in a Beijing hospital.

The Stanford University also denied any cooperation with the hospital concerning this treatment in an email to a Xinhua journalist.

Previously, the hospital has suspended all its medical services, including receiving any new patients, after being put under investigation over allegedly giving patients ineffective cancer treatments.

National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) immediately worked with the health bureaus with both the PLA and the Chinese Armed Police Force to conduct a probe into the hospital.

This follows the death of a 21-year-old university student who underwent an experimental treatment for a rare form of cancer at the Beijing Armed Police Corps' Number-2 Hospital after seeing a promotion for the treatment on Baidu.

Before he died, the victim blasted both the hospital and Baidu in an online post, accusing them of false advertising in claiming a high success rate for the treatment.

Family members of several patients who have also received the same treatment are also demanding refunds and compensation.

The dead college student's story went viral through the May Day holiday in China, initially drawing anger toward Baidu.

However, the hospital is also being probed amid accusations it has private healthcare companies from the city of Putian in Fujian who have a reputation for false advertising and over-prescribing medications.

Health care companies from Putian account for around 80-percent of the market share of China's private medical institutions.

It's being suggested hospitals run by the military and the armed police are specifically chosen as partner facilities by private health care providers, as their oversight isn't controlled by local governments.
