Weng Mao, the former chairman of Shanghai-based food producer Guanshengyuan, died of a head injury after being hit by a rock during a trip in Henan Province.

According to the tourism administration in Yuntai Mountain in the city of Jiaozuo, 67-year-old Weng suffered a head injury on Tuesday after he was hit by a falling rock caused by a monkey's movement in the scenic area. The man died in a local hospital after receiving medical treatment there.

The tourism administration says they have informed the relatives of the dead, and are dealing with the aftermath of the tragedy.

Weng was the chairman and president of Guanshengyuan group, the producer of China's iconic White Rabbit milk candy.
