China, Russia and India have said they are committed to maintaining the order of marine laws, based on the principles of International Law.

The statement was contained in a joint communiqué issued after the 14th ministerial meeting in Moscow between foreign ministers from the 3 nations.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying said the declaration reflects the common desire of the 3 countries to maintain regional peace and stability on the seas and oceans.

"The order is prominently embodied in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, that is, all the relevant disputes should be settled through negotiations and agreements by parties concerned. The ministers called for full observation of the UNCLOS and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, and full implementation of the subsequent action guidelines of the Declaration."

She added that the communiqué was also in keeping with China's consistent stand on handling the issues relating to the sea.

Based on mutual understanding and trust, the three parties also agreed to maintain cooperation on fighting against terrorism, piracy and drug smuggling, while facilitating political solutions to regional issues.
