    A week of high-level interactions between India and China has kicked off, starting with talks held by Chinese Defence Minister Chang Wanquan and his visiting Indian counterpart Manohar Parrikar in Beijing.

    Chang says China has reacted positively towards the setting up a military hotline with India on border security.

    He called on the two sides to enhance strategic communication and strengthen defense exchanges.

    For his part, Parrikar said India placed great importance on developing relations with China and hopes to beef up bilateral exchanges and cooperation in all sectors.

    Also, te Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met the Indian External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj on the sidelines of the annual foreign ministers' meeting of Russia, India and China in Moscow.

    Meanwhile, back in Beijing, Indian national security adviser, AK Doval is due to hold border talks with Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi later this week.

    Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang says the intensive high-level exchanges show positive developments in the relationship between the two countries.

    "Actually, this kind of very intensive or frequent exchanges of high-level visits is a good reflection of the development of the mementosnous of the bilateral relationship between China and India. The good development of the bilateral relationship not only serves the interests of our two countries, but will also definitely serve the interests of the peace stability and prosperity, not only in this region but at world."

    The spokesman also noted that recent media reports on the differences between China and India are just natural between any two counties, stressing that leaders in both nations are ready to solve difficulties in a timely way through peaceful and friendly dialogue.
