[Photo: baidu.com] Beijing Municipal Higher People's Court has reviewed on the IPR cases in 2015, as the April 26 World Intellectual Property Day draws near, the voice of China reports on Wednesday. In 2015, Beijing courts have heard 13,939 civil IPR cases in the first instance, a year on year increase of 24.1 percent. Further, 11,858 have been closed, a year on year increase of 8.49 percent. Among the 10,935 copyright cases last year, most involved online copyright disputes. The review listed the top ten typical cases on the judicial protection of the infringed sides. The accusation of Chinese Taiwan novelist Chiung Yao against screenwriter Yu Zheng for plagiarism, the patent dispute between Apple and Zhizhen over voice recognition technology, and the case of Abbott suing Yeehoo for copying its patented package design were all on the list. The review also listed the top ten new-type IPR cases. The case of Sogou suing Qhihoo 360 for unfair competition tops the list. The court ruled against Qihoo for luring users to install its explorer by accusing Sogou of "revealing user's personal information".
