China has expressed its strong condemnation of the suicide bombing in Pakistan's eastern city Lahore on Sunday night.

Hong Lei is the spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"We are shocked and grieved to hear the deadly attack which caused heavy casualties in Pakistan's Lahore. We extend deep condolences to the victims and convey the most sincere sympathies to their families. We strongly condemn such a cruel terrorism act. At this difficult moment, China is willing to stand with the Pakistani government and residents together."

Hong Lei said China would firmly support Pakistan in its efforts in fighting against terrorism, and in maintaining national stability and people's security.
