Chen Run'er was nominated Saturday as the candidate for governor of central China's Henan Province. Chen was also appointed deputy secretary of the Henan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), according to a senior provincial officials meeting where the decision of the CPC Central Committee was announced. Chen, 59, is a native of Chaling of Hunan Province. He was deputy secretary of the CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee. Xie Fuzhan, former governor of Henan, has been appointed as secretary of the CPC Henan Provincial Committee, replacing Guo Gengmao, according to a decision of the CPC Central Committee on Saturday. |
