It seems the cast and crew of the top-rated US sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" are not ready to say goodbye to their series, which presently has just one more season before contracts expire in 2017.

At a recent PaleyFest event in Hollywood, Chuck Lorre- "Big Bang"'s co-creator and executive producer indicated the clock may not run out so fast:

"I think as long as everyone is having a good time, and we're still working our butts off to make a great show, why wouldn't you keep telling stories? These characters are so wonderful. It's the best cast imaginable. Why wouldn't we keep it going?"

Actor Jim Parsons, who portrays the beloved nerd Sheldon Cooper also notes that he has no interest in wrapping things up next year:

"Something very weird would have to happen for me to go. 'This isn't fun to do anymore.' This is still fun to do. Look: Are you tired of seeing certain people every day for 10 years? Sure. I'm human. But in the overall sense: heaven, heaven."

First aired in 2007, "The Big Bang Theory" is a smash hit in many countries around the world, including China.

It is now in its ninth season and would make for a total 10-season run if the current contract ends.
