Hou Hsiao-hsien's martial arts film "The Assassin" has swept the board at this year's Asian Film Awards.
The movie bagged the best film, with Hou Hsiao-hsien earning the best director prize, and leading actress Shu Qi scooping best actress award.
"The Assassin" has taken home more than half of the event's prizes -- eight out of 15 trophies, breaking the record of 7 awards earned by "The Grandmaster" in 2014.
Meanwhile, South Korean actor Lee Byung-hun has claimed the best actor trophy for his role in hit drama "Inside Men".
Director Jia Zhangke, despite losing the battle with Hou Hsiao-hsien, didn't go home empty-handed.
He has collected a best script award for his "Mountains May Depart".
Veteran action choreographer Yuen Wo-ping and Japanese actress Kirin Kiki scored this year's lifetime achievement awards.
Established in 2007, the Asian Film Awards celebrate the region's best cinematic work over the past year.
This year's ceremony was held in Macau.
