The first direct flight linking Xinjiang with Southeast Asia has been launched.

The flight shortens the travel time between the regional capital Urumqi and Bangkok to around six hours from 10.

The flight will run on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday each week, with a stopover at Lanzhou, capital of northwest China's Gansu.
