The International Monetary Fund has kicked off its selection process for the next managing director.

The incumbent Managing Director Christine Lagarde's term will expire in early July.

According to an IMF announcement, it will receive nominations through February 10.

Candidates can be nominated by a fund governor or executive director and from any of its member nations.

The selection process will be completed by early March.

So far, France and Britain have both formally nominated Lagarde to serve a second term.
