The cast and crew of the 2016 Spring Festival Gala are busy with preparations for the popular annual television event.

There are just 18 days to go before the show airs.

Wang Shiqiang, and others from Zhonghua Martial Arts School of Shandong Laizhou, has just finished rehearsal.

"We need to continuously improve and innovate the show so as to present the quintessence of martial arts perfectly on the spring festival gala stage. For example, we will work on some high-altitude, somersault and tilting moves and greatly improve the overall shape and flow of the martial arts group on stage."

The crew of the Spring Festival Gala initially selected 40 programs for the variety show and its formal stage rehearsal will start next Tuesday.

The show will be broadcast live on February the 7th.
