The 46th World Economic Forum annual meeting will kick off next week in Switzerland, under the theme "Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution."

This year's forum will debate various hot topics including geological security, climate change, and world economic growth.

As officials from the Forum explain, the fourth industrial revolution is characterized by the integration of technologies, and the fusion of the digital and biological worlds.

The changes will feed new technologies and have huge influence on the world economy.

Klaus Schwab is founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum.

"And its impact on governments its impacts of course on business its impact on society. We feel we are not yet prepared sufficiently for this fourth industrial revolution which will come over us like a tsunami which will change whole systems."

According to the Forum, learning how humankind can benefit from this so-called revolution, while addressing its challenges, is the central aim of this year's meeting.

As to the state of the global economy, this year's forum will highlight "the new normal" of economic growth.

The WEF believes that world GDP growth will be lower than four percent this year.

Under such circumstances, economic analysts and business insiders will work on finding ways to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth.

"what's important with all of these conversations is that this is a collaborative approach. The conversations happened together with leaders from governments and NGOs and other civil society. There is a collaborative approach to finding solutions so that changes of the fourth industrial revolution are tsunami but we might solve it in some positive ways."

China's economic growth will continue to be a hot topic. Seminars will be held to discuss issues including the business environment of China under the "new normal" and the upgrading of manufacturing in the country.

Chinese vice-president Li Yuanchao will attend the meeting.

Over 40 heads of state and government, and senior officials, will be present at the meeting.

The annual meeting will also welcome 1,500 business leaders to shed light on 2016's global economic prospects.

In addition, the annual meeting will also examine how the unfolding refugee crisis and recent terrorist acts are reminders of how geo-strategic competition, renewed regionalism, and new antagonists are eroding global solidarity.

Also, the 22nd Annual Crystal Awards will be among the highlights of this year's forum.

The awards recognize artists who have shown exemplary commitment to improving the state of the world.

The 2016 group of awardees include Chinese actress Yao Chen and American actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

The World Economic Forum annual meeting will convene from Jan. 20 to 23.
