[Photo: china.com] The Chinese Foreign Ministry has released another statement on the country's recent test-flight over the South China Sea. Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying says China has indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha Islands and their adjacent waters. At the same time, the spokeswoman also says that establishment of an Air Defense Identification Zone in the region is not on the table for the moment. "As for whether China will establish an Air Defense Identification Zone, it will depend on our sizing up of the situation and our needs. We think at present, the general situation in the South China Sea area is stable. We would like to make efforts with all sides to protect the peace and stability in the South China Sea area. Meanwhile, we hope the relevant countries will not flex their military muscles by using fighter jets, instead (they) should take more practical actions to protect peace and stability in the South China Sea area with China." The latest remark comes amid lasting protests from Vietnam on China's test-flight to the newly built airport on Yongshu Jiao. The Chinese Foreign Ministry responded by saying the international freedom of navigation and overflight to which all countries are entitled under international law is being respected, and the building of the airfield is to ensure flight and navigation safety for airplanes and ships in the area.
