Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying says China sincerely hopes Pakistan and India will strengthen dialogue and cooperation.

Hua's remarks were in response to Saturday's Indian airbase terrorist attack.

"China condemns the attack. We think Pakistan and India are both important nations in South Asia, and a continuing improvement of India-Pakistan relationship is vital to safeguarding regional peace, stability and development."

The attack took place in Pathankot located 50 km from the border with Pakistan.

In addition to this incident, the Indian Consulate in Afghanistan was also attacked.
