[Photo: CRIENGLISH.com] China is becoming the world's largest market for men's skin care products, with a market size of over 1 billion U.S. dollars, followed by South Korea with 0.7 billion dollars. According to market research firm Mintel Group, the size is projected to reach 11.5 billion yuan or some 1.9 billion U.S. dollars by 2020, up nearly 60 percent from the level in 2014. Growth consulting company Frost and Sullivan also said that more than 80 percent of the Chinese men think skin care is important and would spend about 25 minutes daily on skin care. The rise in the men's beauty sector means an opportunity for foreign brands as they hold a dominant 77 percent share of the market in China. Japanese cosmetic brand Sisheido estimates the country will maintain a ten-year growth trend into the new year. Declining to give more details on their investments, the company said they are using the boom in the men's beauty products to accelerate spending in China.
