[Photo: Chinanews.com] A cross-strait meeting involving the mainland's Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits and Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation is underway in Taipei. The session is meant to review how previous cross-strait agreements have been working out. It's the 3rd time the two sides have sat down to review their progress since 2011. Shih Hui-fen, vice chair of Taiwan's SEF, says there's a lot that both sids can be proud of. "For more than 7-years, the ARATS and the SEF have signed agreements and made them into force, which are the fruits produced by the competent departments of the two sides and the wisdom of multiple parities. This is a hard-won achievement that the both side should take great care of it. We will create more concrete results for the people on both sides." A total of 23 cross-strait agreements have been signed since the two sides began direct contact, covering areas such as tourism, personnel exchanges, economic cooperation and disaster management, among others.
