China's Sichuan Airlines on Thursday announced three new international routes as the regional airlines attempts to go global.

The airline, based in Chengdu, has a fleet of 107 Airbus jetliners.

The new flights will link Chengdu with Tokyo, Osaka and Singapore from January, with the flight to Tokyo scheduled four times a week, the flight to Osaka three times a week, and the flight to Singapore daily.

Chinese tourists have been flocking to Japan this year as the yen weakens and visa policies are loosened. In the first three quarters this year, the number of Chinese tourists in Japan more than doubled from the same period last year.

Sichuan Airlines has stepped up international expansion this year, with flights to Vietnam, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
