Four Chinese dairy product producers have officially joined the Sino-Dutch Dairy Development Centre. It is the first time for China's dairy enterprises to join in an international cooperation project. The four enterprises are from Beijing, Inner Mongolia, Henan and Liaoning provinces. Chief scientist at the China National Dairy Industry and Technology System, Li Shengli said Chinese dairy enterprises will benefit a lot from the new platform. "We can learn about the ideas from some European countries on cattle raising, milk processing, and quality control. It's important to promote the Chinese dairy industry from scientific and product quality parts. It will be a trend that Chinese dairy industry will go through internationalization." For his part, Chairman of the Dutch Dairy Association, Roelof Joosten said the platform could help Chinese dairy producers improve the quality of milk products. "And the Sino-Dutch Dairy Development Center can help together with the Chinese dairy industry to build on that, to get safety and quality back into the Chinese dairy industry. And that itself will result in more confidence for consumer level, resulting in more demand." The Sino-Dutch Dairy Development Centre was jointly established in 2013 by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture, China Agricultural University, and the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture. |
