The census will investigate quantitative, qualitative, structural and distributional changes of the population since the sixth census in 2010. Feng Nailin with the National Bureau of Statistics said they added contents on the migrant population in the sampling. "We've added contents related to the migrant population to get a more accurate picture of it. The second aspect of added contents is related directly with people's livelihood, such as employment and social security. And the third concerns women's fertility." Around 5,000 surveyors will visit five million households totaling 14 million people in 60,000 communities across the country. A census is conducted every decade based on the population census regulations of the State Council. In between the ten years there will be a sampling census of 1 percent. |
