On the campus of Guilin Medical University in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 20 "nest boxes" stand with no birds in them.

The nest boxes are instead used as book-sharing facilities and thus hailed as the "Nest Box Library".

The library is self-serviced, self-regulated and open 24 hours. Students can borrow books upon returning old ones.

The library has seen more than 100,000 transactions since it was built in April 2014.
