"Kid Kulafu", a film about boxer Manny Pacquiao, has premiered in Manila. The film details the life of the 36-year old Pacquiao. It includes his up-bringing in a thatched-roof hom in the Philippines. The film is narrated by American actor Paul Soriano. "He had every excuse in the book to fail - a broken family, no food, no home, nowhere to go, no money - but he still persevered and that's what I want the people to see, is that he is where he is today because of hard work." The 110-minute film is three years in the making. It comes just ahead of Pacquiao's long-anticipated bout against American boxer Floyd Mayweather on May 2nd. Despite coming from poverty, Pacquiao is now one of the highest-paid athletes in the world. He's also become a member of the Philippine House of Representatives. |
