Liu Qiangdong, CEO of China's e-commerce giant JD.com, has sued a microblogger for infringement of reputation rights, and claimed a compensation of 8 million yuan, Beijing Evening News reports.

Liu accused the microblogger of making false statements on weibo account about Liu's relationship with Zhang Zetian, nicknamed the "Milk Tea Sister," which hurt the reputation of both Liu himself and JD.com.

Liu asked the microblogger to delete related weibo posts, make a public apology and pay for a compensation of eight million yuan.

The microblogger named Wang Wei is a lecturer in Tianjin University of Commerce.

He has tried to contact Liu, and promised to make a public apology for this.

He also hoped to reach a reconciliation with Liu.

The Chaoyang District Court in Beijing has accepted the case.
