Daur Wuqin, also called “Wuchun” and is the quyi storytelling performance of the Daur Minority. It is popular in Meris Daur, Qiqihar, Heilongjiang, Fulaerji, Fuyu County, Longjiang County, Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Hulunbeiermeng, Xiguituqi as well as Tacheng area and Xinjiang Uighur. Wuqin originally was a narrative poetry Daur literature created in Manchu and read aloud with a tonal chant. Later folk artists performed these works orally. Wuqin gradually turned into a kind of opera, containing “story singing or story rapping”. |
