The shooting location for the upcoming television espionage series "Li Ming Jue Sha," costarring Liu Xiaofeng and Xue Jia'ning, has moved to Chongqing, Sina.com reports.

The production joins other recent TV dramas that center on the theme of "red culture" or the history and development of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Red culture is currently going strong in China as July 1 will mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.

"Li Ming Jue Sha," tells a story of devotion, bravery and wisdom during the time of the founding of the Republic of China.

Liu plays Zhao Hongqi, a battalion commander in the liberation army who is assigned to fight bandits in southwest China and later finds himself in a face-off with his twin brother who becomes head of an anti-communist army. Meanwhile, Zhao's girlfriend becomes a bandit and cunning spy who undertakes secret missions for the Kuomintang.

Jia'ning plays the female bandit skilled in riding horses and shooting. She said the complicated role has been a challenge for her.

Other veteran actors, including Tian Niu, Kou Zhenhai, Cheng Qian and Ding Yongdai, have been cast in the series.

Shooting will finish by the end of June.
